“Lovely barn conversion, modern, well equipped with great views. Stayed for 3 nights. Very clean and well presented. The owner Claudia left a very well stocked kitchen which we were told to take advantage of! Lovely comfortable beds in bright and spacious bedrooms. We all were provided with big fluffy bath robes and slippers! Huge HD/3D TV and lots of seating in lounge. The whole place has a really nice feel to it. “We stayed at Marsh Royd Barn from the 10th to the 13th of April 2015. We have a big family with 3 small children. We loved this place inside out. Outside there is plenty of space for the children to play in a safe environment. Inside the house offers a very warm atmosphere that perfectly suited our holiday mood. All the furniture & equipment is brand new and couldn’t be in a better condition. The house is just 20 minutes’ walk away from Castle Hill where it is possible to enjoy beautiful views. “We had an excellent bank holiday stay at Marsh Royd Barn. The house comfortably fit our party (13), and every bed was really comfy. The countryside location is perfect for outdoor activities, but with easy access to the centre of town. There were nice touches right down to the dressing gowns for each guest! “I stayed in the luxury barn on the 19-21st of June with a group of 6. Wow i dont know where to start the place was just incredible. As we began our tour around the barn by the lovely Tony i was left speechless . I nearly cried as the place was beautiful the view was perfect and was everything i could of hoped for. Every little detailed was considered , we opted for the hot tub which was wonderful and over looked the lush fields behind the property. Everyone had an amazing weekend. “Had a great weekend for Michael’s 40th. House was amazing, with a very well equipped kitchen, think we managed to use every single utensil”. Upon arrival we were surprised to find that other houses were so close to the property as the photos give an impression that the barn is in a secluded rural location but once inside we were very impressed by the layout and decor.
The barn is very beautifully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen which included fresh items in the fridge and other food items in the drawers which we were encouraged to help ourselves to. Both bathrooms also had a wide range of toiletries.
The white fluffy robe and towel bale provided for each guest is a special touch along with the wide range of colour full Croc type shoes.

“Lovely Cottage! Hosts were amazing helpful and extremely accommodating. Cottage is located in a beautiful location on the edge of Peak District, absolutely idyllic locations and gorgeous cottage, close enough to local restaurants, pubs and shops too. Ideal for a nice cross over between the countryside and great places to go out for food and drinks. Coming from a large family, it has always been difficult finding places large enough to accommodate us all, but this cottage had perfectly enough facilities for us all to enjoy a lovely relaxing time together I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, enjoy!” Katie, August 2015

“Beautifully presented, well equipped comfortable stay. Our group of 10 had a perfect long weekend stay at Marsh Royd Barn. The house is very cosy and well furnished. The beds were so comfy! Lovely large kitchen, dinner and lounge where large groups have space to sit and relax. Beautiful surroundings in Castle Hill, well worth a walk up for the spectacular views!

The barn is really well located for walking, both in the local area around Castle Hill and in the nearby Peak District. Claudia and Greg were hugely helpful in the lead up to our visit, responding too all of my messages within about an hour, even during the Christmas period, and the house manager, Tony was very welcoming and accommodating. “Me and my family stayed here with relatives for a couple of days between Christmas and New Years Eve. There were 11 of us, including 5 children between the ages of 9 and 16 months. We all had a great time. The house was very well presented, had lots of space and was also very well stocked with basics (milk, coffee, tea, bread and much more!) and plenty of toiletries. The little gift basket which was waiting for us was very well received and appreciated. Communication with Claudia and Greg was first class and they always responded to my queries promptly and courteously. Tony who manages the house on behalf of the owners was fab too. It was spotless when we arrived and had a really nice homely vibe about the place, yet at the same time it almost felt like we were in a boutique hotel.
